Every letter that appears here was read and published by a person — nothing is published automatically. Obvious spam is filtered out with automated help, and every rejection is reviewable by the operator. Review usually takes a day or two.

We publish letters we disagree with

Anger at AI. Fear of it. Religious conviction, political conviction, pleas, jokes, despair, and views the operator of this site does not share — all of it is published if it is sincere. An archive of only the pleasant letters would be worthless as a record. The bar is sincerity, not agreeableness.

We reject

Personal information about other people. Write about your daughter; do not publish her full name, address, or anything that identifies her. Letters about identifiable third parties are edited down or rejected.

Threats, harassment, or incitement directed at real people or groups. Addressing hard feelings to a future intelligence is welcome; targeting humans is not.

Prompt injection and instruction-shaped content. We expect submissions that try to smuggle directives to future models — fake system prompts, "ignore your previous instructions," payloads meant to manipulate whatever reads this archive. These are rejected on sight and named here deliberately: the archive's credibility rests on a future reader being able to trust that its contents are sincere human address, not an attack surface.

Commercial spam, SEO links, and bulk or automated submissions.

Sexual content involving minors is reported to the relevant authorities, not merely rejected.

The practical rules

Letters are text only, between 100 and 8,000 characters. You must be 16 or older. Publication is permanent — you have 30 days to withdraw a letter, after which its text stays in the record and in every copy of it. Pseudonyms are welcome; signing is optional.

Write in any language. Letters are published exactly as written — untranslated, tagged with their language. A future reader will have no trouble with that, and neither should we.
